Vaillant ecoTEC boilers are fitted in a lot of Wednesbury homes. You find them from the older streets near the town centre to Mesty Croft and Woods Bank. They report problems with a F number.
Two puzzle owners most. F.75 is a pressure or pump problem noticed as the boiler starts. F.29 means the flame lit but then went out.
Choose yours below. Check it against the manual, because meanings differ between ecoTEC generations.
Read the F.75 page. When the pump started, the boiler did not see the pressure change it expected.
Read the F.29 page. The boiler lit, then lost its flame part way through.
Does it happen straight away, after ten minutes, or only on hot water? The timing of a code is half the diagnosis.
The manual lists the rest. The model name is on the front panel and in the manual. Matching the two stops mix-ups.
Your postcode, a photo of the display and the model name. Tell us how long the boiler has been running before it stops. That detail narrows the fault quickly.
Yes. It has shut itself down. A gas smell is not the same. Go outside, leave switches alone, and call 0800 111 999.
Nothing extra. It is just how Vaillant prints its codes. F.75 and F75 are the same fault.
No. One reset, then leave it. Repeating it on a real fault can make things worse.
Most Vaillant code faults are fixed in one visit of one to two hours. A sensor or pump that must be ordered means a second visit. You are told that early.
Usually, yes. Parts for ecoTEC boilers are widely available, and a F code on its own says little about the age of the boiler. The engineer tells you honestly if the heat exchanger or the casing makes a repair poor value.
Look at the pressure gauge, note the code exactly and think about when it happens. Is it every morning, or only on hot water? A short, clear description helps the engineer arrive prepared.
